Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his distinctive style. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe, as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine Her real name is Denise White. Her birthplace is Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing the piano and singing in church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training within the city's R&B scene. In 2005 she took on the role of the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
